Just saw this.

Wonder when this will occur?

It's not news and they're not delayed. It's link baiting by the "news" sites and a certain VMware marketing employee. Hell, MSFT talked about SP1 at the TechEds 2 months ago.

Probably within 90 days of GA. Same as it's always been for VMM with past releases of Windows Server + Hyper-V. Only this time all of System Center is on the same schedule.

They're implying you need to wait until Windows Server 2012 SP1, but it is actually System Center 2012 SP1 that they are referring to.

I'm hoping there will at least be a beta or RC of SC2012 SP1 released soon that can be upgraded to RTM. The CTP2 release that's currently out can't be upgraded to RTM.

Micheal,

I didn't pick up they were implying SP1 for server 2012, but SP1 for SC and SCVMM, possibly even DPM 2012. not sure on DPM 2012.

Aidan,

Its new to me, that means that we possibly can't start using a managed hypervisor in a controlled environment until when...
As to VMware, I don't see any mention of them in there!

Just read the URL: Hyper-V-30-tools-wont-emerge-until-Windows-Server-2012-SP1

I think they changed the title of the article after the fact.

And as far as I know, System Center 2012 SP1 will come out for all the System Center products at once. (Config Man, DPM, Ops Manager, VMM)
