Hello, I have a client that is running SBS2003 as a virtual machine on a VMWare Esxi 3.5 platform. The data (as well as the OS) is stored on a NetApp Storevault Appliance that has a total of 2.9 TB of disk storage. VSS is enabled for the data drive as I am able to pull up 'previous versions' which normally isn't a problem. However, the appliance is running out of space. There is only 140 GB left of free space. I have gone through the data and found a lot of users personal files (music, pictures, videos, etc) which I have deleted from the storage device. Unfortunately, this did not free up any space on the appliance. I am not sure is this is due to VSS, but that is my best guess. I even tried removing the most recent backup (150 GB) to no avail. I am concerned that the next backup is going to fail due to space and the server is going to crash. Any ideas? I thought of disabling VSS and then renenabling, but as the data drive is seen as a mapped drive from the server, I am not able to access the shadow copies tab in disk manager. Am I approaching this wrong? How can I recover my disk space? Thanks for any ideas.
