I have found SafeHouse and that seems to work great with Windows based machines but I need to be able to utilize the thumb drives on both Windows and MAC's, and I'm not seeing that it is compaitble with the Mac OS. Have an email out to them but have not heard back as of yet. Anyone have a good tool they use for securing USB drives for windows and MAC?

Try taking a look at TrueCrypt....

For the Mac person in you the following is a good read, sudo formated into a Step by Step from the Mac perspective.

Step by Step Windows side.... http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/

Webpage for TrueCrypt... http://www.truecrypt.org/

This is not a product that encrypts the entire USB. This product created a virtual disk that you mount of which it is encrypted, allowing you to use between Mac or Windows and I think they have added other operating systems, but have not looked at this for a while.

Have used and worked for what I needed back in the day when I had need for this stuff.

Ironkey works with all platforms, is very secure, but rather expensive.

It's a type of USB key - not software to encrypt standard flash drives.

No need to be admin either to mount the volume.

Otherwise, I do like Truecrypt myself.
