How are typical users ever going to adjust to win8? Even I don't feel like I'm using it the way it's intended...

Posted - 06/28/2012 : 12:16:10 PM I think one area Admins will initially be interested (concerned) about is the Windows Store and the Metro-style apps. Thankfully AppLocker and other group policy settings will help. I also was playing with a new feature in the Windows Advanced Firewall yesterday. You can create an outbound rule that restricts a metro-style app to certain portions of the OS. You'll notice that when you install an app, it declares how it interacts with your system - photos, docs, webcam, network, etc. You can restrict these with GPO and WFAS.
